We just returned from a week visiting my parents in Queensland, and there is nothing that defines relief like stepping off a plane into 22 degrees with about 10% humidity after a week of around 34 degrees and at least 95% humidity. It’s kind of funny, because 34 would be hot here…even very hot, but not quite so unbearably, sap the life out of you, drench you in sweat hot…I don’t think I’ve ever sweated that much…not fun at all. At least there was a pool though…which was a refreshing 30 degrees..heh.

Anyway, since I’ve been back I’ve been busy attempting to install gentoo and get all those music applications up and running. So far I’m getting there, with not too many hurdles getting in the way (Tessa calls it fighting, but I’ve had worse). Unfortunately I’m off to Sydney for a week tomorrow, so I wont get to see the results of my work till Friday…but I think I’ll live.

I forgot to mention that I bought myself a new desk for the music room a couple of weeks ago. It’s really made a difference – it’s a nice big 8′ by 6′ corner workstation desk, and it lets me spread out quite comfortably, without making the room feel too small.
As I was carrying it home, I was once again reminded of why I bought a station wagon…every time I think I’ve found somethign too big to put in it, it proves me wrong.
