ugh, I just spent about 5 hours entering my details into a personal finance program.
And after all that effort, it tells me pretty much what I already know: I’m fucked
Oh well, I can take comfort in the fact that if I actually make it through this year, I’ll be rolling in cash, as there are to be NO MORE HOLIDAYS after this pay, and no more cause to buy Caitlin presents (almost as bad for the bank account as the holidays), and I should have the car payed off by November.
It’s just this month and March that are looking kinda bleak.
Hmmm…I’m not doing to bad with scratchies though – I just got another $5 from one of 3 bought with $7 that came from a previous two. So I’m up $2 from my original investment…..heh.
Anyway – in other stuff, I’m feeling kinda crappy sick right now, had a horrible night’s sleep last night due to too much mucous. But I’ve got myself drugged up on cold and flu meidcation, so hopefully I’ll sleep better tonight.
I had an excellent game of Civilization round at Emma’s last night – very war oriented for a change. Neither of us usually play that way, instead going for scientific or cultural victories
We had nearly destroyed the Germans (they started it!) at the end of our last session, but they’d managed to sneak up to the other end of the map and make a couple of cities up there – and also managed to take one of Emma’s cities.
In the mean time the French decided to declare war on me, and thwarted my attempts to take the German cities by attempting to overwhelm me with Archers.
However, I eventually managed to fight my way clear, and in that time Emma had got her city back and was marching on the German’s new capital. We took their last two cities pretty much simultaneously. Then I started working my way through the French cities.
After I’d taken four of them, Emma had a suprise attack from the Babylonians, who had attacked one of her cities back down at the bottom of the map.
I made peace with the French and started sending my troops down to help.
Emma ended up losing a couple of her cities (well, cities she’d taken from the Germans anyway) before either of us were able to get any sort of force down there. Technically I was still at peace with Babylon, but I soon remedied that by attacking their troops as the passed one of my newly garrisoned cities.
They responded by sending the biggest army I’ve seen in the game yet.
The whole bottom half of the map was swarming with the buggers.
But we managed to fight them back, and Emma only lost one more city – which I promptly “liberated” for myself…heh
By the time we’d cleaned it all up, it was 1:00AM. I’d been intended to get an early night too…heh
Anyway, next time we bring the war to them!
